Biography
Ronald Burrell joined the Owls staff in June of 2016 shortly after finishing his professional career. A native of Montlclair, New Jersey, Burrell played collegiately at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro from 2001-2005. After compiling over 1,000 points, 500 rebounds, two NIT appearances, and three All-Southern Conference awards he graduated with a Bachelors in Business Administration with a concentration in marketing. Burrell was also a three-time All- Southern Conference athletic honor roll student and team captain while at UNCG. Burrell trained in the Atlanta area with current head coach Michael Curry in preparation for two mini camps and summer leagues with the Seattle SuperSonics. Burrell established himself in the European leagues beginning in the French Pro B league and landing a job with German champion RheinEnergie Koln in the Euroleague. After claiming a German cup championship and a Euroleague weekly MVP award, Burrell maintained an eleven-year European career. During his career he competed in games in over 20 different countries and reached the Euroleague quarterfinals with Asseco Prokom of Poland in 2010. Burrell finished his career with tours in Germany and France where he began.
