Charles Thyne

Biography

  Mr. Charles Thyne, also known as Chuck, serves as Head of Global Quality of Industrial Operations of Genzyme Corporation and oversees the quality of all Genzyme products manufactured around the world. He leads a global organization consisting of approximately 900 employees across 8 industrial sites, responsible for overseeing manufacturing quality and release of product from Genzyme’s Rare Disease and MS portfolios as well as Sanofi’s Biosurgery franchise. He has oversight of corporate quality functions that support the biologics and biosurgery manufacturing networks, including groups such as Validation, Risk Management, Documentation and Quality Systems. He served as Vice President of Corporate Quality Operations at Genzyme Corporation and served as its Vice President, Corporate Quality; Senior Director of Quality Assurance and Quality Control; Senior Director of Quality Control ; Director of Quality Control and Associate Director of Quality Control. He served as Director of Quality Operations at Allegro Biologics. He served as Senior Manager of Quality Control Operations and Bioassay Development at Repligen Corporation. He served as Manager of Quality Control and Quality Assurance at Abbott Biotech and Supervisor of Quality Control at Damon Biotech. He holds Dual B.S. in Biomedical Science and Clinical Laboratory Science from Framingham State College.
