Biography
Joris Van der Jeugt got his Ph.D. in Mathematics from Ghent University, Belgium. He was a postdoc at Queen Mary College (London) and at Southampton University. He is now a Professor at Ghent University. He is the author of over 100 scientific papers and gave lectures at many conferences. Special awards for mathematics, Lokeren, 1977. Award of the city of Ghent for the most deserving student in the Faculty of Sciences, 1980. Winner of the Contest of the Royal Academy of Sciences, Philology and Fine Arts of Belgium, 1985. Was awarded a NATO Research Fellowship, 1987. Became Honorary Fellow of the NATO, 1988.
