Biography
I have been active since April 2012 as a general and abdominal surgeon at the Imelda hospital. Career I followed my medical education at KU Leuven. During my specialization in general surgery, I was an assistant and resident in the Aalst Onze-Lieve-Vrouw hospital. Subsequently I studied several experts in various fields within abdominal surgery at home and abroad: liver, bile duct and pancreatic surgery, as a fellow at the 'Center hospitalier de l'Université de Montréal' liver, bile duct and pancreatic surgery, visiting Dr Warshaw in Boston and Dr Bellemare and Dr Kinkhabwala in New York abdominal oncological surgery and HIPEC, as resident in the East Limburg Hospital with Dr. Kurt Van der Speeten and Dr. H. Verhelst endocrinological surgery with Prof. Carnaille in Lille and Prof. Henry in Marseille Until my appointment at the Imelda hospital, I was a surgeon at the Onze-Lieve-Vrouw hospital in Aalst. I am part of the team that designed the Imeldawebsite. Target: clear and accessible information for patients as well as colleagues - both in my medical practice and online.
