Hans Bishop

Biography

  Mr. Hans E. Bishop serves as the Chief Operating Officer of Photothera, a late stage medical device company. Mr. Bishop has been the President of Juno Therapeutics Inc since September 2013. He has more than 18 years of pharmaceutical industry experience. Mr. Bishop is Co-founder of Juno Therapeutics Inc. and has been its its Chief Executive Officer since September 2013. He served as Consultant of Dendreon Corp. from October 1, 2011 to December 31, 2011. He served as the Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of Dendreon Corp. from January 4, 2010 to September 30, 2011. He served as the President of the specialty medicine business at Bayer since 2008, where he was responsible for a diverse portfolio of oncology, hematology and neurology products and previously served as President of its hematology/cardiovascular division since 2007. Mr. Bishop served as the Head of the Hematology/Cardiology Business Unit of Bayer HealthCare Pharmaceuticals. Mr. Bishop also served as an Executive Vice President of Bayer HealthCare LLC. From December 2006 to January 2009, he was with Bayer Healthcare AG, where he served as the President of the Specialty Medicine business unit and as President of the Oncology, Neurology, Ophthalmology and Haematology Business unit. He served as the Senior Vice President of Global Commercial Operations at Chiron Corporation Ltd. from 2004 to 2007. He served as Vice President of Global Operations for Sonera Zed from 2000 to 2004. From 1995 to 2000, Mr. Bishop was with SmithKline Beecham where he held a number positions, including Director of European Business Development and Strategy and Managing Director of SB UK Pharmaceuticals. Since 1988 until joining SmithKline Beecham in 1995, Mr. Bishop was with Glaxo Wellcome PLC. His strong experience and expertise, especially in cancer immunotherapies and the broader bio-pharmaceutical markets, is extremely valuable as Agilent continues to grow globally. He served as Executive Chairman of Iovance Biotherapeutics, Inc. from March 21, 2012 to November 28, 2012. He has been a Director at Agilent Technologies, Inc since July 18, 2017. He has been a Director of Juno Therapeutics Inc. since September 2013. He serves as a Director of California Life Sciences Association. He served as a Director of Avanir Pharmaceuticals, Inc. from May 8, 2012 to January 13, 2015. He served as a Director of Lion Biotechnologies, Inc. from January 09, 2012 to November 28, 2012. Mr. Bishop received a B.S in chemistry from Brunel University in London.
