Biography
Janice has been with The Ottawa Hospital since 1985, and is currently the APN for the Renal Transplant program and Nephrology ambulatory clinics. She has been involved in the care of patients with chronic illness through-out her nursing career, and more recently with patients living with End-Stage Renal Disease and renal transplantation. Janice provides direct clinical care and case management to the renal transplant clinic patients at the Riverside Campus. Of particular focus are the clinic patients with kidney graft failure expecting to return to dialysis or requiring re-transplantation within the year. The APN role in renal transplant also includes management of the program across The Ottawa Hospital. Janice maintains a research and academic focus on inter-professional care and chronic disease management models of care for achieving clinical targets and medication adherence with renal transplant patients. Janice has been active in the RNAO Best Practice Guideline development, and participated in task force development teams for the Adult Asthma, COPD and most recently End-Stage Renal disease.
