Biography

Dana has worked at The Ottawa Hospital, in the Nephrology program, since 2002 and is currently the Advanced Practice Nurse for the Nephrology Access program and Corporate Radiology Nursing. Dana has completed her Masters in Health Studies with a teaching focus. The Ottawa Hospital Nephrology Access Program manages both the acute and long term dialysis access needs of patients on and approaching the need for renal replacement therapy. This regional program also provides nephrology access support for programs outside of the Champlain LHIN when required. Dana provides direct clinical care to chronic kidney disease patients in the vascular access and peritoneal dialysis access clinics at the General and Civic campuses. Dana is focused on strategies to ensure the timely creation and maintenance of appropriate dialysis access for patients with chronic kidney disease, including quality assurance initiatives that focus on key elements of nephrology access. Dana also supports and manages the corporate radiology nursing team. This group provides care to patients undergoing medical imaging and radiological interventions. Dana is focused on strengthening quality based processes and procedures that will impact best patient care and outcomes.
