Biography
Dr. Weymans was born in Sevelen, Germany, on September 25, 1957. He studied physics at the University of Bonn, where he obtained a Ph.D. in theoretical physics. Dr. Günther Weymans began his career at Bayer AG in 1985. After five years as a project manager in polymers research, he served in various management positions in Leverkusen; Baytown, Texas; and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In 2004 Weymans was named global head of the Technical Rubber Products business unit at Lanxess, and in 2007 in addition head of Technical Services and of the Logistics and Supply Chain organization. In May 2013 he became responsible for the business unit Keltan Elastomers in Geleen, the Netherlands, and starting July 2013 country head of the Business Unit Butyl Rubber in Singapore. In 2015 he worked as advisor for the Lanxess Executive board. Since February 2016, Weymans is CEO of the RÜTGERS Group and Chief Operating of RÜTGERS’ parent company Rain Carbon Inc.
