Biography
Alain De Krassny In 1997, de Krassny-Privatstiftung (90%) and Alain De Krassny (10%) bought Donau Chemie AG. Prior to this acquisition, Alain De Krassny occupied no less than seven positions within Rhône-Poulenc. It started in 1972, when he was in charge of mission for the German area, Société des Usines Chimiques Rhône-Poulenc Paris (1972-1973). A year later, he became Director, Rhône-Poulenc Handelsgesellschaft GmbH, Vienne, a position he held for three years. From 1977-1978, he was appointed Director's assistant, Usine de Rhône-Poulenc (Chimie Minérale), Rouen - France). In 1978, he moved to Holland, for two years, to take over the position of Director General, Rhône-Poulenc Nederland NV Amstelveen (Holland). In the next five years, he became General Director, Rhône-Poulenc GmbH, Francfurt (German Federal Republic) and then President Director General, Laboratoires Roger Bellon SA, Neuilly sur Seine for two years (1985 - 1987). He then finally occupied the position of President of the Directoire, Donau Chemie AG, Vienne (Austria) for 10 years (1987 - 1997). In December 2013, he took over, together with Open Gate Capital, KEM ONE SAS - the second PVC manufacturer in Europe, which failed in March 2013. He is now President of the company and will hold 90% of the shares. From 1968 - 1969, Alain De Krassny was a research assistant in the Chemical Department at the University Laval Québec. The following year, he was hired by Dow Chemical Europe SA, Horgen (Switzerland) as an engineer in the Development Service. Alain De Krassny holds an MBA INSEAD Fontainebleau (1972) and a Master of Science (Chimie physique organique) Université de Californie, Berkeley (boursier Fullbright) (1968). He graduated as an engineer from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Lille (1966). He is Commander of the French order “Legion of Honour.
