Biography
Giorgio Squinzi, born in 1943, holds a degree in industrial chemistry from the Università degli Studi of Milan and an "honoris causa" degree in Chemical Engineering received from Politecnico of Milan. He has been CEO of Mapei, an industrial group specialized in chemical products for building, since 1984. He was President of Federchimica, the Italian Federation of the Chemical Industry from 1997 to 2003 and from 2005 to June 2011. He was President of Cefic (2010-2012). Already a member of the Board of Directors and Committee of Confindustria, the Italian National Employers’ Association, he was Vice Chairman of Confidustria appointed to technological innovation and research from July 2003 to May 2004 and has been President of the Technical Committee for Europe since May 2010. He has been President of Confindustria from 2012 to May 2016.
