Biography
John Verity is senior vice president of ExxonMobil Chemical Company, located in Houston, Texas. In this position, he is responsible for the global polymers businesses, which include polyethylene, polypropylene, butyl, adhesion and specialty elastomers. In addition, Mr. Verity oversees the company's global supply chain activities. During the early part of his career, he worked in sales, marketing and strategic planning roles within the European polyethylene business for Exxon Chemical, as well as in manufacturing management at the butyl rubber plant at Fawley, U.K. He moved to the U.S. in 1998 in a planning assignment for the company’s global polyethylene business. In 2000, he became Americas marketing manager for the ExxonMobil Chemical Polyethylene Business. He was appointed president of Univation Technologies LLC in 2001. He returned to ExxonMobil Chemical in 2005 as vice president of Research and Development. In 2006, he became vice president of the global Polyethylene Business. He assumed responsibility for both the polyethylene and polypropylene businesses in 2008 as vice president of the global Polyolefins Business. In 2014, he added responsibility for the adhesion and solution performance plastics businesses units as vice president of Plastics and Resins. He assumed his current position in January 2015.
