Markku Korvenranta

Biography

Markku Korvenranta has been Executive Vice President for Base Chemicals and member of the Borealis Executive Board since October 2010. With over 20 years of experience, he has served in a number of positions within Borealis Group and its predecessors. His field of experience include strategic planning, finance, treasury, business management and financial risk management. He began his career in 1990 in Neste Chemicals in Porvoo, Finland. In 1994 he relocated to Denmark to be part of the finance team of the newly formed Borealis. Since then, he held several management positions at Borealis, including Director Tax & Treasury. In 2005, he took over the position of Vice President Business Planning & Analysis responsible for group wide strategy project. In 2007 Markku Korvenranta moved to the Base Chemicals Business Group as Vice President for phenol and aromatics. In his most recent position prior nomination to the management board of Borealis he was Senior Vice President Olefins & Sourcing responsible for cracker product and feedstock trading and global procurement activities. Markku Korvenranta holds a Master of Science in Industrial Economics.
