Biography
Mr. Ewout Ramon is the Research Assistant to the Director at the United Nations University Institute on Comparative Regional Integration Studies (UNU-CRIS). Apart from supporting the Director, he maintains the online regional integration knowledge system (RIKS) platform and acts as liaison officer between UNU-CRIS and UNU Headquarters in Tokyo regarding communications and project management. He also collaborates with UNU-CRIS Founding Director/Associate Senior Research Fellow Prof. Dr. Luk Van Langenhove. In the past, Mr. Ramon worked on several projects as a Project Researcher. Finalised projects include the FP7 EU project GR:EEN, which dealt with the future role of the EU in the emerging global order; a feasibility study on transnational higher education initiatives; and a study on cross-border cooperation in the Zeelandic-Flemish border region. Mr. Ramon received a Bachelor degree in International Politics from the University of Ghent and a Master degree in European Studies: Transnational and Global Perspectives from the University of Leuven. As an exchange student he spent one year on International Relations at the Istanbul Bilgi University in Turkey.
