Research Interest
Her research focuses on social, political and identity transformations in the post-Soviet space, and in particular on the North Caucasus as a particularly rich and emblematic region of a whole series of transformations in Russia. Part of her research concerns the Chechen conflict, as one of the fixing points of these transformations. Another part deals more comprehensively with the North Caucasus, summarizing the question of institutional transformations, the management of Tsarist and Soviet heritages, Russian federalism, the notion of ethnicity and identity and identity mobilization. In this context, special interest was given to the Sochi Olympics with the organization of a major colloquium in 2014. Finally, a new research project (2014-2017) deals with conflicts and the issue of "post-conflict" in the Caucasus, with an emphasis on the issue of warrior habitus and reconversions of the war experience in the post-war situations. In this context, research is being carried out on ex-combatants of the Caucasus conflicts, as part of WP7 "Violence, Conflict, Peace Building" within the European project FP7 CASCADE, "Exploring the Security-Democracy in the Caucasus" www.cascade-caucasus.eu ).
