Biography
Hans Lammerant has studied philosophy (VUB, 1996) and law (VUB/UIA, 2004). He also has a candidate degree in industrial engineering (1992) and is currently finalizing a Master in Statistics (UGent). Previously he has worked in civil society organisations on peace and human rights issues (arms trade, military intervention, nuclear weapons and international law, business and human rights).
Research Interest
In his research he focuses on the effect of new developments in data science and statistics on surveillance and privacy. More generally he is interested in how technological developments and globalization influence the development of new forms of exercising power and how this impacts law.
