Biography
Sari Depreeuw is a post-doctoral researcher at LSTS and specialises in Intellectual Property Rights, in particular copyright, and new technologies. She graduated from the law faculty at the KULeuven in 2002 and completed a LLM in intellectual property law (KUBrussel) in 2006. In 2011 she has successfully defended her PhD dissertation titled "The variable scope of the exclusive economic rights in copyright. Exploring the articulation of law and technology through the case of Web search engines" at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB).
Research Interest
Sari joined LSTS in 2006 and until 2010 she has worked on the IWT project "Flemish E-publishing Trends" FLEET. Currently she is working on the FWO project "Public and private use: an online private sphere in copyright?". She is also working as an attorney at law and is a member of the Brussels bar.
