Biography
Dr. Casey is Chief of the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine and Obstetrics. With more than 20 faculty, the Division is among the largest in the United States, and is responsible for one of the largest maternity services in the nation at Parkland Memorial Hospital as well as for a growing consultative and referral practice in the UT Southwestern Health and Hospital System.
Research Interest
A graduate of Ursinus College with a major in Biology, Dr. Casey did graduate work in tissue culture and immunology at Rutgers University before attendi His research interests include gestational diabetes, thyroid disease, and pregnancy outcomes. He is chair of the protocol subcommittee for one of the largest clinical trials ever conducted by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Maternal-Fetal Medicine Units Network. The trial involved the nationwide-screening of more than 97,000 pregnant women for subclinical hypothyroidism and the ongoing longitudinal follow-up of their infants to five years of age. ng Temple University Medical School.
