Andrew Martin Vesey
Mr. Andrew Martin Vesey, also known as Andy, BA(Econ)(Hon), BSc(Mech Eng), MS, has been the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of AGL Energy Limited since February 12, 2015. Mr. Vesey has over 30 years of experience in the electric and gas utility industry. His broad experience covers generation, transmission, distribution, customer service, retail sales, corporate support functions, international project development, business start-up, product development assignments, change management and process re-engineering. He served as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Citipower Pty Ltd. He served as the Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President at The AES Corporation from 2012 to November 30, 2014. Mr. Vesey served as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of The AES Corporation since 2009. He served as Regional President of Latin America & Africa at The AES Corporation from April 2009 to October 2011 and also served as its Executive Vice President from March 2008 to October 2011 and Chief Operating Officer from July to February 2008. Mr. Vesey was responsible for the AES's businesses in Latin America, which include 47 generation plants and nine utilities serving more than eight million customers across the region, including Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Dominican Republic, El Salvador and Panama. He served as President of Latin America Region of AES Corporation from March 2008 to March 2009. Mr. Vesey served as Vice President of Latin America and Chief Operating Officer of Latin America, Vice President of Global Business Transformation and Vice President of Integrated Utilities - Development at The AES Corporation. He joined AES in 2004. He served as Group Manager for AES Latin America of The AES Corporation. Mr. Vesey is a long-standing member of AES Latin American senior management team. From 2004 to 2005, he served as Vice-President of Integrated Services Development and Vice President of AES Business Transformation Global Group from 2005 to 2006. From 2006 to 2007, he served as a Deputy Chief Executive Officer of gGrupo AES America Latina, for the Dominican Republic-Central America Free Trade Agreement Region. From 2002 to 2004 he worked at FTI Consulting Inc., where he held the position of Chief Financial Officer for public utilities companies and regulatory consulting practices and also its Managing Director in the Utility Finance and Regulatory Advisory Practice. Mr. Vesey served as a Partner in the Energy, Chemicals and Utilities Practice at Ernst & Young LLP from 1999 to 2002 and as a Senior Executive of Entergy in the United States and Australia. He served as Chairman of the Board of The Dayton Power and Light Company. He served as the Chairman of DPL Inc. He served as the Chairman of Eletropaulo Metropolitana Eletricidade de São Paulo S.A. and IPALCO Enterprises, Inc. He served as a Vice Chairman at AES Elpa S.A. since 2008. He has been a Director at Sunverge Energy, Inc. since February 2016. He served as a Director at AES Gener S.A. since February 26, 2013 until November 30,2014 and AGL Energy Limited since February 12, 2015. He serves as a Member of the Boards of Directors of AES Sul Distribuidora Ga cha de Energia, S.A.; Itabo Finance, S.A.; AES Dominicana Energia Finance, S.A.; Eletropaulo-Metropolitana Eletricidade de Sao Paulo SA and Companhia Brasiliana de Energia. Mr. Vesey served as a Director of DPL Inc. He served as a Director at AES Gener S.A., until October 26, 2011 and AES Tietê S.A. He served as a Member of the Board of Directors of AES Chivor & Cia S.C.A. E.S.P. He is the co-author of Unlocking the Benefits of Restructuring: A Blueprint for Transmission, published by PUR Inc. and a contributing author to The Virtual Utility: Accounting, Technology & Competitive Aspects of the Emerging Industry, published by Kluwer Academic Publishers. He has spoken widely about electric utility restructuring, transmission and the role of new technology. Mr. Vesey received his BA in Economics and BS in Mechanical Engineering from Union College in Schenectady, New York and his MS from New York University.
