Mark Garrett

Biography

Mr. Mark Garrett, also known as Marc, has been the Chairman of Executive Board and Chief Executive Officer of Borealis AG since 2007. Mr. Garrett served as Head of the Water & Paper Treatment Segment of Ciba Holding, Inc. from 2001 to February 2007 and served as its Executive Vice President of Water. He has over 30 years of experience in senior management roles in the chemical sector. He served as Vice Chairman at Abu Dhabi Polymers Company Ltd. (Borouge ADP), a leading provider of innovative, value creating plastics solutions, established in a joint venture with Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC). He serves as the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Borealis Agrolinz Melamine GmbH. He has been a Director of NOVA Chemicals Corporation since November 10, 2009. He has been an Independent Non-Executive Director of Umicore S.A. since April 28, 2015. He has been a Director of Axalta Coating Systems Ltd. since June 20, 2016. He served as a Non Executive Director of Ciba India Limited from October 2001 to February 1, 2007. He serves as a Member of the Advisory Board of Webster Vienna Private University. Mr. Garrett holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from the University of Melbourne in Australia and a Graduate Diploma of Applied Information Systems from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology.
