Biography
Octavio de Barros holds a PhD (University of Paris-10 Nanterre). He has been an advisor to the Brazilian Finance Ministry on two occasions. Mr. de Barros has also been a guest economist of the Brazilian Central Bank, a consultant to the BNDES, a visiting fellow in OECD (Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development), He has also been Economics Director of the Brazilian Bankers Association (FEBRABAN). He is a member of the Higher Economic Council of FIESP (Industry Federation of Sao Paulo and Chairman of the Economic Committee of the French-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce. Mr. de Barros is currently Macroeconomic Research Director and Chief Economist of Banco Bradesco. He published in Brazil two books, "Brasil Globalizado" and the recently launched "Brasil Pos-crise: agenda para a proxima decada", co-authored with Fabio Giambiagi.
