Biography

He holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from the School of Engineering of Barretos in 1985. He holds a postgraduate degree in Electrical Power System Engineering from the Federal School of Itajubá (EFEI) in 1990 and a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP) in 2001 (did not defend thesis); and two specializations, including an MBA in Business Management (2004) and an MBA in Financial Management, Controlling and Auditing (2011), at Fundação Getúlio Vargas - FGV. At Companhia Paulisa de Força e Luz (CPFL), he held various positions, such as: Operation Planning Engineer (1986 to 2000); Manager of the CPFL Transmission Services Division (2000 to 2001); Manager of the Electric System Planning Division of CPFL (2001 to 2002); Manager of the Operational Control Department of CPFL Paulista and CPFL Piratininga (2002 to 2006); Director of Operations of RGE (2006 to 2009); and Executive Director of RGE (2009 to 2011). He was the representative of CPFL in the Coordinating Group of the Interconnected Operation of the South / Southeastern Electric System of Brazil - GCOI / GTPO / ELETROBRAS (1986 to 1996); Representative of the distributors Paulista, Piratininga and RGE in the working group for the Offering of Shares of CPFL Energia, on the São Paulo Stock Exchange and Initial Public Offering (IPO) (2006); Coordinator of the Technical Loss Group of the Brazilian Association of Electric Energy Distributors (ABRADEE) (2005 to 2006); Professor of the Course of Technical Loss in the Electric Sector of the COGI Foundation (2005 to 2006). He was also the CEO of RGE (from June 2011 to April 2013). He was CEO of CPFL Paulista and CPFL Piratininga from 2013 to 2015.
