Biography

Mr. Luis Fernando Alarcón Mantilla has served the Chief Executive Officer of Asofondos de Colombia and Grancolombiana Merchant Fleet. Mr. Alarcón Mantilla served as Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of Electrical Interconnection SAESP from December 1996 to August 4, 2015. He served as Executive Director at the Inter-American Development Bank. He served as the President of the Association of Private Pension and Severance Funds (ASOFONDOS) and PresidentPetrocolombia SA, CTEEP and INTERNEXA. He served as Member of the Board of Directors at Luz del Sur SAA He served as Director of Interconnection Eléctrica SAESP and CTEEP - Companhia de Transmissão de Energia Elétrica Paulista. He served as Deputy Minister of Finance and Public Credit from September 1986 to May 1987 and served as Minister of Finance from May 1987 to August 1990. He also serves on the Superior Council of the University of the Andes. He has been a Civil Engineer from Universidad de los Andes since 1975. He holds a Post Graduate Degree in Economics at Universidad de los Andes and has a Master of Science in Civil Engineering in Hydraulic Resources Systems from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology - MIT in 1979.
