Alexandre Hoffmann

Biography

Graduated in Agronomy from the Federal University of Santa Maria (1990), he obtained a Master's degree in Agronomy from the Federal University of Pelotas (1994) and a PhD in Agronomy (Phytotechny) from Universidade Federal de Lavras (1999). He is currently Researcher A of the Brazilian Agricultural Research Company, together with the National Grape and Wine Research Center (Bento Gonçalves, RS), where he was also General Manager of the Unit (2004-2008) and, since 2011, Deputy Technology Transfer Unit. He has experience in the field of agronomy, with emphasis on planting of temperate fruit trees, working mainly on the following topics: integrated fruit production, safe food production, organic fruit production and temperate fruit orchard management.
