Cleber Oliveira Soares

Biography

Veterinary Medicine by the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro-UFRRJ (1996), master's degree in Veterinary Parasitology (UFRRJ, 1998) and doctorate in Veterinary Sciences (UFRRJ, 2002). Researcher at Embrapa since 2001, he was Head of Research and Development at the National Center for Research on Cattle from 2005 to 2010, he was a full member of the External Advisory Committee (CAE) of the Center for Agricultural Research of the Pantanal. He was a member of the CAE of the National Center for Milk Cattle Research; was a member of the Board of Directors of the Brazilian College of Animal Pathology. He was Secretary General of the Brazilian Society of Agricultural Defense - SBDA; is a member of the CAEs of the National Center for Research in Agricultural and Livestock Informatics and the National Center for Research on Pigs and Swine. He is a member of scientific and technical committees in the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply; Ministry of Science and Technology; National Council of Scientific and Technological Development, Research Support Foundation of MS and MT states; CAPES, Brazilian Brazilian College of Biotechnology, Embrapa, INIA-Uruguay, INIA-Venezuela, BIOTECH-SUR, INTA-Argentina, among others. He is an Ad-hoc consultant of national and international scientific journals, publishers, national and international research foundations, MAPA, MCTI, MDIC, BNDES, CAPES, FINEP, CBAB, ICGEB, FAPESP, FAPEMIG, CGEE, Academy of Sciences of Mexico, Embrapa, World Bank, Global Network of Academies of Sciences and other agencies and autarchies. Member of the Superior Councils of the FUNDECT and the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of MS. Member of the Higher University Council of the University Anhanguera-Uniderp. Member of the State Forum of Science, Technology and Innovation of the MS State. Member of the Sustainable Rural Development Municipal Council of Campo Grande, MS. He works as a collaborating professor in postgraduate programs at UFMS, UNB, UFRRJ, UCDB, UFRPE, UNESP, and other universities, with disciplines at UFMS; and as professor of UFMS and UNB's permanent postgraduate program. 

Research Interest

Cleber Oliveira Soares has experience in the areas of parasitology, zoonotic diseases, biotechnology, immunology and genomics applied to animal health. He has worked in the last 14 years in management of Science, Technology and Innovation for agribusiness.
