Biography
Graduated in Food Engineering from UNICAMP (1978), holds the Master's degree in Food Science from the University of California? Davis (1992) and PhD in Food Engineering at UNICAMP (1999). Are you a researcher at the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation? Embrapa since June 1982, working on research and development of processes applicable to the agroindustrial food sector. He is currently Deputy Head of R & D at Embrapa Agroindústria de Alimentos. From July 2007 to August 2011 he held the positions of Deputy Chief of Staff and Deputy Head of R & D at Embrapa Agroenergia, a research center whose facilities were inaugurated in December 2010 to develop research, development and innovation activities in the area of ​​agro-energy . He has held various positions in research administration, such as: coordinator of the Food Engineering Area of ​​Embrapa Agroindústria de Alimentos; coordinator of Embrapa's National Program for Agroindustrial Food Technology Research; coordinator of the Center for Industrialization and Quality of the National Coffee Research and Development Program (PNP & D / Café); coordinator of the theme Agro-Food Technologies, Quality Management and Food Safety under the cooperation agreement Embrapa? CIRAD; member of the Internal Technical Committee (CTI) of Embrapa Agroindústria de Alimentos; coordinator of the Nucleus of Assistance in Projects (NAP) of Embrapa Agroindústria de Alimentos; representative of Brazil in PROCISUL's Regional Technological Platform for Quality of Agri-Food Chains; representative of Brazil in the PROCISUL Biofuels Regional Technological Platform; technical responsible for the Good Laboratory Practices component (GLP) of the AGROFUTURO Program; member of the Technical Committee of Macroprogram 1 - "Great National Problems" of Embrapa; Executive Secretary of the Managing Committee of the PD & I Projects Portfolio for the Embrapa Sugarcane Sector; Deputy Chief of R & D and General Manager of Embrapa Agroindústria de Alimentos. He has been working in the area of ​​Institutional Development since 2004, having led two corporate projects related to the implementation of Quality Systems in the laboratories and experimental fields of Embrapa, to carry out studies according to the standards of Good Laboratory Practice - BPL and tests according to NBR ISO / IEC 17.025. Previously, from 1979 to 1982, he held the position of Food Engineer at Coca Cola Indústrias Ltda. (Dept. Nutrition Products Division, R & D), working on the development of new products for infant feeding and adaptation of industrial production processes. He also acted as Engineer of UNICELL - Brazilian Company of Unicellular Products, from 1978 to 1979, and was responsible for setting up and operating the inactive dry yeast factory. He is a member of the Brazilian Society of Food Science and Technology - SBCTA and the Brazilian Association of Food Engineers - ABEA.
