Biography

Jardine is currently Researcher A at Embrapa and holds the position of Deputy Head of Technology Transfer at the Embrapa Satellite Monitoring Unit, having joined in 1978. He has been a Full Professor at the Pontifical Catholic University of Campinas since 1989. He is a volunteer researcher at the Institute of Biology Unicamp since 2006 and accredited advisor of the Faculty of Food Engineering (FEA)? Unicamp from 1991. During the 37 years dedicated to Embrapa, for 19 years he held management positions in the company. At Embrapa Informática Agropecuária, he held the positions of Chief-General (2000-2005); implemented and managed the Communication and Business Area (1996-1998); was Deputy Chief of Administration (1994-1995) and Deputy Chief of Research and Development (1991-1994). In the Technological Nucleus of Agricultural and Livestock Informatics, Research unit that preceded Embrapa Informática Agropecuária, held the position of Deputy Chief (1992-1993). At Embrapa Agroindústria de Alimentos, where he started his activities at Embrapa, he was Head of Research and Development (1981-1984). In his first job at the Tropical Research and Technology Foundation André Tosello, after graduating in Food Engineering from the School of Food Engineering at Unicamp, he held the position of Administrative Manager (1976-1978). He completed his master's degree (1980) and PhD (1990) at FEA-Unicamp and his postdoctoral degree at the Institute of Biology at Unicamp in the field of structural bioinformatics (2006). After completing the postdoctoral period he joined the Research Group in Computational Biology where he develops researches in the area of ​​biotechnology with emphasis in Computational Molecular Structural Biology, working mainly on the following topics: studies on the relationship between the structure and function of macromolecules; high-throughput screening; rational drug design and bioenergy. It has 6 orientations of completed master's dissertations and guided 95 undergraduate degree completion work. He is the author of a hundred technical-scientific publications and 6 patents. Participated in the Organizing Committees of the courses: • São Paulo School of Advanced Science - Advanced Topics in Computational Biology: Agrochemical and Drug Design in 2012 and • São Paulo School of Advanced Science Advanced Topics of Human Molecular Genetics in 2011.
