Biography
He holds a degree in Forestry Engineering from the Federal University of Paraná (1984), a Masters in Statistics, Mathematics and Computing from the Open University of Portugal (2010), a Master's Degree in Biological Sciences from the National Research Institute of the Amazon (1994) Federal University of Paraná (2004) and postdoctoral degree from the Techinische Universität Bergakademie Freiberg, Germany. He is currently a researcher at the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation, a collaborating professor in the postgraduate courses in Forest and Environmental Sciences at the Federal University of Amazonas Forest Sciences course of the National Research Institute of Amazonia and full professor of the Paulista University. He has experience in the area of ​​Statistics, Forest Resources and Forestry Engineering, with emphasis on Forestry, working mainly on the following topics: Amazon, forest plantations, recovery of degraded areas, energy forests, quantitative methods and forest plantations. He is the leader of the CNPQ research group: management and forestry of cultivated forests, agroforestry and agrosilvopastoral systems in the Amazon. Between 1991 and 2016 he participated in 25 research projects, and coordinated 5 of them. Currently participates in 5 research projects, being that coordinates 1 of these. Was advisor to the Chief of Research and Development from 2005 to 2011 of Embrapa Western Amazonia; and held the position of Head of Research and Development for a period of 2 years.
