He was a Post-Doc at the FAO/International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna, Austria (2011), obtained his Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from the University of São Paulo (1997), M.S. in Biological Sciences (Entomology) from University of São Paulo (1988) and a B.S. in Agronomic Engineering from the Federal University of Pelotas (1982). He is a Researcher at the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation ? Embrapa Grape and Wine since 1983 in entomology. He was Vice-President and President of the Chamber of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Services in Vacaria, Brazil, President of the Brazilian Entomological Society, Professor for Entomology and Fruit Culture at the University of Caxias do Sul, consultant for the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply, and Technical Coordinator for the National Program of Prevention and Eradication of Cydia pomonella. He has experience in Agronomy, with emphasis in Agricultural Entomology, acting in areas such as: apples, Tephritidae, Anastrephae fruit flies, Tortricidae and Integrated Pest Management.
