He is Graduated in Biological Sciences (2004), Master?s (2006) and PhD?s 2010 degrees in Microbiology from the Federal University of Minas Gerais - UFMG (Belo Horizonte / Brazil. From 2010 to 2012 developed Postdoctoral activity in Molecular Genetics at the same institution. Since 2012, it is the Researcher at EMBRAPA Agroenergy (Brasilia / Brazil) in the area of ​​ Microalgae Genetic Resources for the Production of Biofuels and Bioproducts. In 2016, became coordinator of the EMBRAPII Unit: Renewables Biochemistry, headquartered in EMBRAPA Agroenergy (Brasilia / Brazil). In this same year became the R&D Assistant Director of Embrapa Agroenergy. Dr. Brasil is the author/inventor of 4 technologic products, 3 of these already transferred to the private sector and currently marketed. In addition, the applicant produced to date 3 patent applications,28 scientific papers published in indexed journals (H Index = 9) and two book chapters. Dr. Brasil is co-founder of the technology-based company Myleus Biotechnology. Dr. Brasil is also professor in the post-graduation programs in Biotechnology of Federal do Tocantins Universities (Brazil) and Bahia (Brazil) and in the post-graduation program in Chemical and Biological Technologies at the University of Brasilia (UNB).
