He is holding Bachelor's at Chemical Engineering from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (1982), master's at Chemical and Biochemical Engineering from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (1985) and doctorate at Food Science and Technology from Universidade Estadual de Campinas (2000). He has experience in Chemical Engineering, with emphasis on Biochemical Processes and Food Technology, working mainly in the processing of fruits for manufacture of beverages such as fruit juices and coconut water industrialized, and in the production of fermented alcoholic beverages and others like those obtained by mixing such as liqueurs. It also has expertise in enzyme technology aimed at producing cellulases, lipases and transglutaminases of fungal origin,focusing the utilization of agro-industrial wastes as culture medium for solid-state fermentation and waste management and hazardous chemicals in laboratories of institutions research and development.
