Biography
He holds a degree from the Regional University of the Northwest of the State of Rio Grande do Sul (1973), a Master's degree in Public Administration from the Getulio Vargas Foundation - Rio de Janeiro (1973) and a PhD from the University of Muenster (1981). He was twice President of the Brazilian Society of Economics, Administration and Sociology (SOBER) from 1989 to 1991 and from 2007 to 2009. He was Coordinator of Embrapa's Labex Europe from 2002 to 2005 and Head of the Strategic Management Advisory Board from 2005 to 2008, from the Ministry of Agriculture. He is currently a research scientist and Head of the Secretariat of Intelligence and Macrostrategy of the Brazilian Agricultural Research Company, executive secretary of the Embrapa Strategies Steering Committee and the National Advisory Council, as well as a guest lecturer at Fundação Getulio Vargas - SP and Fundação Dom Cabral, Minas Gerais. Member of the Superior Council of Agribusiness of FIESP and of the Food Nutrition Council of the World Economic Forum. Honorary member of the Brazilian Academy of Agronomy.
