He is Graduate at Agronomia from Universidade Federal de Viçosa (1988), Master's at Agronomy from Universidade Federal de Viçosa (1991) and Ph.D. at Plant Biotecnology from Tokyo University of Agriculture (2001). Has experience in Agronomy, focusing on Plant Breeding, acting on the following subjects: Glycine max L. Merrill, banana, cloning by in vitro methods, domestication of Cerrado's plants.
