Biography

He holds a degree in Pharmacy, Industry, from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (1986), a PhD in Pharmacotechnie et Biopharmacie (1995) and a PhD in Sciences Pharmaceutiques (1997) from the University of Paris XI (Paris-Sud). He completed post-doctoral training at Unit 598 of the Institut National de la Santé et de la Recherche Médicale? (INSERM U598 - Maladies oculaires et innovations therapêutiques), Paris, France (2004/05). He is currently a Full Professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG). He received thirteen awards, including the Honorable Mention under the UFMG TESE PRIZE of 2006, the CAPES DE TESE PRIZE of the Pharmacy area of ​​2007, The Honorable Mention under the CAPES DE TESE AWARD (Edition 2010) and the 1998 thesis prize of the Association of Pharmacy Galénique Industrielle (APGI) and Association of Recherches Scientifiques Paul Neumann. He has experience in the field of Pharmacy, with emphasis on Pharmacotechnics, working mainly on the following topics: development ophthalmic drugs, biodegradable implants, microemulsions and polymeric drug delivery systems, vaccine adjuvants. Current Coordinator of the Pharmacy Area at CAPES.
