Biography
He holds a BS in Biochemical Pharmacy from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (1979), a PhD in Biological Sciences (Physiology and Pharmacology) from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (1988) and a PhD in Nuclear Technology from the University of São Paulo (1993). He was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Hospital de Bellvitge, Barcelona, ​​Spain, during 2001. He is currently a Full Professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy at UFMG. He develops research works in the area of ​​Radioisotopes, with emphasis on Radiopharmacy and Nuclear Medicine. Founding Member and the Steering Committee of the Mine Network of Nanobiotechnology Research with financial support from the Foundation for Research Support of the State of Minas Gerais (FAPEMIG). Leader of the Research Group Nanobiotechnology Applied to Health. He served as President of the Brazilian Society of Nuclear Biosciences (SBBN) during the 2004-2005 biennium, having served as vice president for two previous biennia. He organized and presided over the V Scientific Meeting of the Brazilian Society of Nuclear Biosciences and the I Brazil-Spain Scientific Meeting reanalyzed in the city of Belo Horizonte in October 2005. In 2008 he held postdoctoral degrees at the Laboratory of Radiopharmaceutical and Molecular Imaging, Radiology Department of Thomas Jefferson University, USA. Coordinator of the Mineira Network of Researches in Nanobiotechnology (FAPEMIG) biennium 2017-2018 He organized and presided over the V Scientific Meeting of the Brazilian Society of Nuclear Biosciences and the I Brazil-Spain Scientific Meeting reanalyzed in the city of Belo Horizonte in October 2005.
