Biography
Carlos Ueira-Vieira holds a PhD in Genetics and Biochemistry from the Federal University of Uberlândia (2006), Post-Doctorate from the National Research Institute of the Amazon (2007), Post-Doctorate from the Federal University of Triângulo Mineiro (2008) and Postdoctoral Degree from the University of California, Davis (UC Davis), USA (2013). He is currently Director of the Institute of Genetics and Biochemistry of the Federal University of Uberlândia and Associate Professor of the Federal University of Uberlândia, member of the Genome Network of Minas Gerais and member of the Mineira Network of Applied Biotechnology to Agriculture, both funded by FAPEMIG. He has experience in Genetics, with emphasis on Biotechnology, working mainly on the following topics: New Generation Sequencing, RNA-Seq
