Biography

Sérgio Mauro da Silva Neiro holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from the State University of Maringá (1992-1996). He holds a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of São Paulo (1997-1999) in the Laboratory of Simulation and Process Control, and participated in an exchange project with the University of Bremen (Germany) between May and December 1998, the development of experimental work. He holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of São Paulo (1999-2003) with a degree from Polytechnic University of New York from November 2002 to March 2003. He started his postdoctoral degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of São Paulo (2003) -2004), not having completed to act professionally. He worked as a Supply Chain Consultant at ApenTech - Brazil (2004-2010), whose main role was to implement decision support tools in Demand Management and Planning. Currently, he teaches at the Faculty of Chemical Engineering of the Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU) as Adjunct Professor II. The area of research concentration is in mathematical programming involving traditional techniques such as linear programming (LP), nonlinear programming (NLP), whole linear mixed programming (MILP), nonlinear whole mixed programming (MINLP) and disjunctive programming. The problems of interest involve those related to Process System Engineering, namely: process design and synthesis, supply chain, production planning and scheduling, real-time optimization (RTO) and process control, as well as problems involving integration between the sub-areas mentioned. It devotes particular attention to the cases of the oil industry, where it has concentrated most of its research.
