Biography

Sydnei Magno da Silva Graduated in Veterinary Medicine from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (2000), master's degree (2007) and PhD (2011) in Parasitology from the Federal University of Minas Gerais. He is currently Assistant Professor III of the Department of Immunology, Microbiology and Parasitology of the Institute of Biomedical Sciences (ICBIM) of the Federal University of Uberlândia. Advisor of the Postgraduate Program in Applied Immunology and Parasitology at the UFU Master and Doctoral level. Coordinator of the Laboratory of Bioassays in Leishmania ICBIM-UFU. Researcher of the National Institute of Science and Technology in Nanobiopharmaceuticals - INCT NanoBioFAr, of the MINE Network of Nanobiopharmaceuticals and Mine Research Network on Human and Animal Infectious Diseases.

Research Interest

Has experience in the field of Parasitology, with emphasis on leishmaniasis, (LVC), preclinical drug trials and formulations for the treatment of leishmaniasis, nanotechnology, liposome encapsulated meglumine antimoniate, furtive liposomes, amphotericin b, miltefosine and allopurinol. He has experience in diagnostic methods for LVC, LVH and LTA, in the parasito-host relationship (Lutzomyia longipalis / Leishmania), xenodiagnosis, feline visceral leishmaniasis and other possible reservoirs of Leishmania infantum.
