Valeria Viana Murata

Biography

Valeria Viana Murata Graduated in Chemical Engineering from the Federal University of Uberlândia (1984), Master in Mechanical Engineering from the Federal University of Uberlândia (1988) and PhD in Chemical Engineering from the Chemical Engineering Program of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1996). She is a professor at the Faculty of Chemical Engineering at the Federal University of Uberlândia since 1985. The main area of ​​activity is modeling, simulation and process optimization. She is a permanent teacher of the Post-Graduate Program in Chemical Engineering and a Master's and Ph.D. He has served as Deputy Chief of the Chemical Engineering Department, Coordinator of the Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering and Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Chemical Engineering. She was Director of the Faculty of Chemical Engineering for two terms: 2009 to 2012 and 2013 to 2016. Numerical Methods Applied to Chemical Engineering and Special Topics with diverse contents.

Research Interest

Fluid bed dynamics modeling; modeling, simulation, optimization and design of hybrid configurations dryers; development of algorithms for solving dynamic optimization problems using direct methods and indirect methods; production scheduling applied to oil refineries and the fertilizer industry; modeling and simulation of dispersion of pollutants. He is lecturer of the disciplines Modeling and Simulation of Chemical Processes, Optimization of Chemical Processes, Numerical Methods Applied to Chemical Engineering and Special Topics with diverse contents.
