Puneet Mahajan

Biography

Puneet joined GE's FMP program in India in 1998. After several FMP assignments across GE Corporate, GE Healthcare and GE Consumer & Industrial, he joined the Corporate Audit Staff (CAS) in 2000. Over the next 4 years in CAS, he performed several compliance and financial audits across various GE capital businesses worldwide. In 2004 he was promoted to the position of Executive Audit Manager (EAM) responsible for GE's Insurance businesses & Asset Management based in Stamford, CT. In 2005, Puneet moved to Japan as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for GE Money Japan responsible for Finance for the $11B consumer finance business in Japan. Over the 3 years in the role Puneet's role expanded to cover Finance, Key operations and BD. In 2008, Puneet returned to Corporate Audit Staff (CAS) as the Operations Leader for CAS. In the role he was responsible for audit planning, execution and also the recruiting and placement strategy. In 2009, Puneet moved back to Japan as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for GE Capital Asia Pacific overseeing Finance for $42B in assets across 10 countries. In 2010 he moved to India as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for GE India where he helped create the country P&L structure putting all GE businesses under one management team. In 2011 Puneet was promoted to his current role as Vice President & Chief Risk Officer for GE. In 2014, Puneet was appointed as Vice President of Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis. A native of India, Puneet is a Finance & Accounting Major. He completed his MBA from Goa Institute of Management, India and worked for Citibank prior to joining GE.
