Biography

Mr. Giancarlo Francesco Civita serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer at Abril Comunicações S.A. Mr. Civita has been an Executive Vice President of Editora Abril S/A since 2006. Since 2007, he has been Executive Chairman of Abril. He has been Vice President of the Management Board at Editora Abril S.A. since 2003 and serves as its Member of Management Board. He serves as a Vice Chairman at Abril S.A. He joined Abril in 1982 as a Trainee in its Printing Works and served as its TVA Programming Director since 1990, Managing Director of MTV, General Director of MTV, Vice President of the Thematic Unit, Vice-President of Entertainment Division and Vice-President of Youth Unit. Until February 2003, he held Executive functions within Abril S.A. In 2006, he regressed to Abril S.A. He served as the Chairman of Abril Educação S.A. He served as the Chairman and Vice Chairman at Somos Educação S.A. He served as the Vice Chairman of Abril Educação S.A. He served as a Director of Editora Abril S.A. Mr. Civita holds a Bachelor's degree from the School of Advertising and Marketing (ESPM) and a Post-Graduate Diploma from Harvard Business School.
