Biography

Bruno Flach is a Research Staff Member and Manager of the Natural Resources Optimization group at IBM Research – Brazil. He joined IBM in 2011 and has been involved in projects related to the oil & gas and mining industries, as well as the Smarter Cities agenda. Bruno holds a PhD (2010) and an MSc (2004) in Operations Research from the Electrical Engineering Department of the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and a BSc (2002) in Telecommunications and Industrial Engineering from the same institution. He has been a visiting student at the University of California, San Diego (US) and a visiting researcher at the Center for the Analysis of Risk and Optimization Modeling Applications of Brunel University, London (UK).
