Julio Nogima

Biography

Julio Nogima is a Software Engineering Researcher in the Smarter Human System group at IBM Research-Brazil (BRL). He received a degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Campinas, Brazil. He is currently working with speech technologies to provide Brazilian-Portuguese support to IBM ASR (Automatic Speech Recognition) and TTS (Text To Speech) technologies. Prior to joining BRL, Julio worked at the IBM Watson Research Center (WRC) in NY-USA where he participated in a number of projects creating new hardware, middleware and software technologies in the fields of digital TV, rich media applications and business process management (BPM) for creation/distribution of multimedia content. His research interests include SOA middleware, multimedia applications, Internet of Things(IoT), Reconfigurable Computing and Hardware Acceleration.
