Marcia Ito

Biography

Marcia Ito is medical doctor (EPM-UNIFESP), data processing technologist (FATEC), doctor and master in electrical engineering (EPUSP). She has been a researcher in the Human Systems group at IBM Research – Brazil since March 2012. She is working in Finep’s project (A Platform for the Development of Accessible Vocational Training). Her work in this project is to understand the needs of people with disabilities. She is also a professor in Faculty of Technology of Sao Paulo (Fatec-SP). There she teaches software architecture and scientific research methodology. She received IBM Faculty Award to launch the Service Science Research Lab, after a presentation to Dr. Jai Menon (IBM VP Innovation). She coordinated the Lab, conducted researches in design services, multi-agent systems and management of chronic patients and has advised thirteen MSc. dissertations. She has been an Executive Secretary of the Brazilian Health Informatics Society since October, 2012. She currently takes part in the ABNT Special Temporary Health Informatics Committee (ABNT/CEET 00:001.78) as an expert in data structure standards in Health Informatics. She also takes part in the Board in the Committee of Applied Computing in Health at Brazilian Computer Society. Minister lectures in research institutes, colleges, companies and events. She was a scientific counseling in Integra Medical Company. In Fiap, she coordinated the Bachelor Course of Information System. She has participated in assessments and implementation of RUP and CMMI in several companies (Natura, Promon, Image and others). She has acted as a requirements analyst in the Military Police of Sao Paulo Project and also as a business analyst for Roche – Chemical and Pharmaceutical Industries in its CRM Project.
