Biography

Graduated in Biological Science from Sergipe Federal University, holds a Masters and PhD in Zoology from Julio de Mesquita Filho State University. Currently is professor and Dean from the Goias Federal University. Member of the Linnean Society, London (FLS) and the Brazilizn Science Academy. Associate editor of a number of periodicals and one of the main editors of the "Global Ecology & Biogeography" (Blackwell Inc.), as well as former director of Ecography (2010 - 2014), "Journal of Biogeography" (2005), "Insect Conservation and Diversity" (2010-2012) and "Revista Chilena de Historia Natural" (2012-2013). Was chief editor for "Natureza & Conservação" (2010 and 2012), and is currently a staff member of the editiong team.
