Biography
Mr. Luiz Villar was born in the state of Bahia on July 11, 1946. He holds a degree in Civil Engineering from the Polytechnic School of the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA), and has taken extension courses in Macroeconomics at FGV Rio de Janeiro, and in Advanced Management at INSEAD/France. He joined Construtora Norberto Odebrecht (CNO) in 1968 as Contracts Director and was elected Managing Director in 1981, performing his activities in Brazil and abroad. Throughout his history in the Group, Luiz Villar has occupied different positions in various companies. In 1988, he was elected Executive Vice President for Odebrecht Mineração e Metalurgia. In 1989, he was elected Director of Odebrecht S.A.. From 1990 to 1993, he was CEO for Odebrecht Perfuração para Petróleo, and from 1993 to 1997, he was elected CEO for Odebrecht Celulose (Project VERACEL). From 1997 to 2001, he was the CEO for Odebrecht Serviços de Infraestrutura. Mr. Luiz Villar was elected member of the Board of Directors of Odebrecht S.A. in 2002 and became part of the Compliance Committee, a supporting body for the Board of Directors of Odebrecht, in April 2016.
