Biography
He holds a medical degree from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1995), a master's degree (1996) and a doctorate (2000) both in Biochemistry from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. He has experience in the field of Biochemistry, with emphasis on Lipids, having worked mainly on the following topics: lipoprotein, tick, hemeprotein, protein structure and fluorescence techniques and oxidation of macromolecules. He is currently a researcher at the Oswaldo Cruz Institute, working in the area of ​​lipid metabolism and inflammatory response. His current work places emphasis on the effects of leptin on the innate immune response and formation of leucocyte lipid bodies, relating these data to obesity, diabetes and cancer.
