Fernando Ariel Genta

Biography

He is a researcher at the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (FIOCRUZ) in Rio de Janeiro. Nowadays he studies the digestive system and the immune system of triatomines, sandflies and culicides, focused on digestion enzymology and the interactions between trypanosomatids and their vector insects, in the area of ​​Parasitology - Entomology and Parasites and Vectors Malacology. He holds a bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from the University of São Paulo (1998), a Master's degree in Biochemistry from the University of São Paulo (2000), a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of São Paulo (2004) ) And Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (2010). He has experience in the field of Biochemistry, with emphasis in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology of Insects and Enzymology, having worked in the study of digestive enzymes and the immune system of vector insects and its relation with the vectorial capacity and establishment of parasite infection. He coordinates the Enzymatic Kinetic discipline in the graduate studies in Cellular and Molecular Biology of the Oswaldo Cruz Institute.
