Biography
Graduated in Biology - Rijksuniversiteit te Gent (1985) and doctorate in Molecular Biology - Rijksuniversiteit te Gent (1989). He is currently head of the Laboratory of Applied Molecular Biology in Mycobacteria of the Oswaldo Cruz Institute of the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation, Rio de Janeiro. He has experience in the field of Cell Biology, Genetics, Microbiology and Biotechnology and works mainly in the area of ​​mycobacterial diseases, studying both pathogen and host. He held a postdoctoral fellowship of one year at the Institute of Tropical Medicine in Antwerp between 2015 and 2016
