Biography

Mr. Joaquim Manuel Jordão Sérvulo Rodrigues has been the Chief Executive Officer of Espírito Santo Ventures - Sociedade de Capital de Risco, SA since 2000 and serves as its Executive Director. He has been Investment Director and Director of Oceanlinx Limited since May 2007. He has been a mentor of the Espírito Santo Ventures project from its inception. Mr. Rodrigues has been the Chief Executive Officer at the firm, since its inception in 2000. Prior to this, from 2004 to 2006, he served as the Chief Executive Officer at Crediflash SA and a General Manager at the BES Consumer Credits Department. From 1997 to 2000, he served as the General Manager of the Direct Channels Department at BES. From 1983 to 1995, he was an Assistant Professor at IST and a Research Project Leader at INESC. From the very beginning, back in 2000, he has put his vast experience at the service of many of our global portfolio companies, both from a technical standpoint – drawing on his electrical engineering background and work as a teacher at IST and as a researcher at INESC built on his curriculum at INSEAD and his long experience developing businesses in the Banco Espírito Santo Group. He serves as Member of Best - Banco Electronico De ServiÇo Total, S.A. Mr. Rodrigues served as a Non-Executive Director of Novabase SGPS SA since April 29, 2003. He served as a Director of TxVia, Inc. He served as Director of Iosil Energy Corporation. Mr. Rodrigues has an M.B.A. degree from INSEAD (France), an M.Sc. and a B.Sc. in Electro Technical Engineering from IST (Portugal).
