Michael Pehl

Biography

Mr. Michael Pehl, also known as Mike, serves as the Managing Director, General Partner, and Partner at Guidepost Growth Equity. Mr. Pehl focuses on growth equity investments. He co-founded North Bridge Growth Equity in 2007. He serves as Member of the Executive Council at Longworth Venture Partners. He was a Partner of Digital Media & Communications III, L.P. Mr. Pehl has more than 20 years of experience forming, managing, and successfully exiting information technology companies. Mr. Pehl was a Partner at Advent International Corporation, which he joined in 2001, where he worked for five years. He focused on investments in North American region in the information technology sector, including enterprise software, information technology infrastructure, and information technology services. He worked closely with Advent portfolio companies such as RedPrairie, Demantra, Inc., MTI Technology, OpenService, Inc., PowerSteering, and Ultimus as well as companies outside Advent, including Crossgain and Dirig Software to help leverage their potential. Prior to working with Advent, he held various positions, including the President and Chief Operating Officer at SBI Razorfish, Inc. from November 1999 to August 2000. Mr. Pehl served as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of International Integration from July 1996 to October 1999 and successfully took it public in 1998. Prior to working at International Integration, he founded International Consulting Solutions (ICS) in 1991 and served as its Chief Executive Officer from January 1991 to March 1994. Mr. Pehl served as the Chief Executive Officer at Deloitte & Touche Consulting Group of Deloitte & Touche LLP from March 1994 to May 1996. He served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Dirig Software, Inc. Prior to founding ICS, he was employed by SAP AG and SAP America from July 1986 to December 1990, where he held various positions in the consulting and development organizations. He served as a Member of SAP AG team that relocated to the United States in 1987 and established SAP America, Inc. Mr. Pehl has been a Director of OutSystems S.A. since February 2, 2016. He serves as a Director of Leapfrog Online, Inc., OpenService Inc., iMakeNews, Inc., MEDITECH Solutions Group and Airwide Solutions, Inc. He served as a Director of Upland Software, Inc., Valence Health Inc, PowerSteering Software Inc. Mr. Pehl served as a Director of Aspen Technology Inc. since August 2003. Mr. Pehl served as a Director of Procuri, Inc., SBI.Razorfish, Inc., Ultimus Inc., Demantra Inc., International Integration, and Open Text Digital Media Group. He served as a Director of EMC Documentum, Inc. since January 2000 and MTI Technology Corp., from June 2004 to October 2007. He served as a Director at Allegro Development Corporation since January 2008. He served on the boards of 14 private and public technology companies. He has deep growth equity experience as both an Investor and an Operator. Mr. Pehl received the Entrepreneur of the Year award, sponsored by Ernst & Young, Merrill Lynch, and Inc. Magazine, in recognition for his business achievements.
